Abstract
This study examines older adults' self-perceptions of oral health-related quality of life and its consequences for speech-language pathologists (SLP). Given that poor oral health significantly impacts vital functions such as nutrition, swallowing, speech, and communication, SLPs have a necessary role in clinical management, education, and advocacy. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating oral health assessments and interdisciplinary referrals into standard SLP practice to improve overall patient well-being.
