Abstract
Telepractice has allowed many people to participate in speech therapy despite many barriers. Participating in speech therapy often leads to challenges, including distance, travel time and expenses, lack of community resources, and other limitations. This article discusses parents' thoughts and experiences with telehealth speech and language services in rural communities. It summarizes parents' perspectives, thoughts, and comments related to online speech therapy sessions. The survey concluded that although most parents prefer in-person speech therapy treatment, online sessions are effective and approved by parents. Despite some concerns with online sessions, speech teletherapy in rural settings has been effective in parents' eyes and has given children opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable.
