Abstract
Clofazimine is an antileprosy, antituberculosis agent. It is used in combination with dapsone and rifampin to treat those infected with mycobacterium leprae who have the multibacillary form of the infection. It is also used to treat patients refractory to other, more commonly used, antitubercular agents such as isoniazid or rifampin. Clofazimine is also employed, in combination with other drugs, as a treatment for HIV and Mycobacterium Avium Complex. © 2007 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
