Abstract

This quantitative study explores the lived experiences, coping strategies, and perspectives of adults who stutter, with the goal of identifying the multifaceted factors that contribute to resilience and well-being. By illuminating the experiences of individuals who have effectively managed their stuttering, this research aims to reduce stigma and challenge prevalent misconceptions about the condition. The findings indicate significant variations in participants' experiences regarding the onset, frequency, and management of stuttering. A key insight from the study is the influence of self-perception and confidence on how individuals navigate their stuttering. Results suggest that those who foster a positive self-image and actively engage in self-advocacy are more likely to achieve improved communication outcomes and enhanced overall well-being.
