Abstract
Pilonidal disease, although relatively common, often is not appropriately recognized and treated. This inflammatory condition may be found in several areas on the body; this article reviews disease affecting the gluteal cleft, how to identify the condition, initial treatment, and when to consider surgical intervention for definitive care.
