Abstract
The modified C-palatal plate (MCPP) successfully distalizes maxillary teeth while limiting unwanted effects associated with other maxillary distalization appliances. The MCPP appliance is a safe, simple and effective non-extraction approach to maxillary distalization. Compared to other maxillary distalization appliances, the MCPP appliance provides statistically significant improved tooth movement. The MCPP appliance is our appliance of choice for chin retrusion and moderate skeletal discrepancies requiring more than 3 mm of distalization, in both adults and adolescents.
